I got the lowdown on the upgrade to version 2.1, so I thought I’d better do what I’m told (I was brought up this way!). I did the backup of my database and existing installation, then tried to run the upgrade. At this point I was told that my ISP didn’t support the relevant version of PHP for the new release. After a mild panic, I re-installed my existing version, and everything came back as promised. Phew.
Moral of this story is; Don’t believe you don’t have to obey the rules.

Seems the same sort of people that try and bombard my blog with spam, have not been slow on the uptake to try and and add insult to injury after the storms in the UK and Europe last week. Mac Liron from updatexp.com asked me to pass this link on about a new version of the trojan small.dam.
Read the information here:

The Register also has an article on this:

Thanks to the Askimet plugin for Wordpress, the spammers seem to be getting held at bay. So good news for me and Wordpress, yah boo sucks to the bad guys. I’ll be getting back to more relevant stuff from now on.

Alas, the original blog software I installed got nobbled by the spammers, so I’ve started again with Wordpress. Fingers crossed this time
